One Stop Shop: At-Home Collaboration
Dear Clay-Platte Family,
So many of you have shown so much gratitude over the last two weeks, as the guides have produced content, hosted Google Meet sessions, and more. Thank you for participating, for letting us know about your experiences.
The past two weeks have vastly enhanced our skill sets and we have learned so much from our initial work with distance learning. We have had a variety of different responses from teachers, some technical glitches, and some experimentation.
This has led us to make the decision to pair up communities, to meet the needs of families and children (Red & Blue Rooms, Green & Yellow Rooms, Orange & Sunrise Rooms, and Lower & Upper Elementaries). So, this week we will be ramping up to, and next week fully implementing, a plan that will offer to each child and family:
One email a week about the upcoming week
Daily fifteen minute community meetings
Small group lessons twice a week
Recorded stories thrice a week
Recorded demonstrations twice a week
A level-specific parent meeting every other week
We have a diverse set of family needs right now. We are working to meet those needs to the fullest extent possible. So, if you find you need more from the guides, please let them know. If this is overwhelming to you, there is no requirement or even expectation that you participate. We all are in a variety of different places and we truly respect wherever you are right now.
One of the most exciting aspects of this is the integration with Transparent Classroom. The TC programmers have been busy expanding the platform to be useful for the new distance (emergency) learning scenario we find ourselves in. From this point forward, you will be able to log in to Transparent Classroom and find your child’s schedule and links to Google Meets, the videos, and any resources your child needs to work with the guides.
When you login to Transparent Classroom, click on your child’s Community Team link. You will get a list of options, including Stories, Demonstrations, and Calendar. We are still building this out, so it will grow over the next week or so. But take a look around and get familiar. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
